Social Responsibilities

Along with its provision of high-quality services, Lima e Falcão Advogados follows a policy of social responsibility, by way of an ethical and transparent internal management system and support for social, educational and cultural projects, based on its commitment to sustainability and the development of Northeast Brazil.

By combining its reputation for competence with ethics and social responsibility, the firm adopts the view that private enterprise should encourage social change as a way of improving the living conditions of the population.

The firm’s social actions thus aim to help meet the challenge of social problems, reduce inequality, broaden access to the arts, preserve the cultural, artistic and environmental heritage, strengthen local and regional culture, and contribute to progress and human development, with a view to enhancing social well-being.

The following list contains some of the actions undertaken by the firm in recent years.

Arts and Environment

• Support for the Piano Recital, with Luís Felipe Oliveira, held on April 1, 2023, at 7:30 pm, at Teatro de Santa Isabel, Recife/PE. All ticket sales went to the pianist's participation in the Competition in Viseu, Portugal, which took place on April 4 and 8, 2023, for which he was one of the 15 internationally selected participants, being the only Brazilian.
• Realization of “Diálogo Barroco Concert - between Recife and Leipzig, written by Luiz Alvarez Pinto and Johann Sebastian Bach”, presented by Ensemble Vocal Cantamus, held on the 30th of April 2022 and the 7th of May 2022 at Nossa Senhora da Soledade Church and Bom Jesus do Arraial Church, in Recife/PE;
• Support for the realization of “Paixão Segundo São João Concert, written by Johann Sebastian Bach”, with Radu Pantea, held on the 17th of April 2022 at Penha’s Basilica, in Recife/PE;
• Sponsorship of “Piano Recital with pianist Luís Felipe Oliveira”, held on the 14th of October 2021 at Santa Isabel Theater, in Recife/PE;
• Support for the realization of “Mozart Recital with Madrigal Lindbergh Pires Group”, from UNICAP, Recife/PE, in 2018;
• Support for the realization of “MasterClass Closing Concert (lyrical), with Radu Pantea”, held on the 04th of October 2018 at Madre de Deus Church, in Recife/PE;
• Support for the publishing of the book “Medo de Palco”, written by Dayse Gomes Mendes, in 2018;
• Support for the Pernambuco Music Conservatory at the Winter Festival (FIG) in Garanhuns/PE, in 2018;
• Sponsorship and support for the pianist Luís Felipe Oliveira since 2018;
• Sponsorship of the “Business Opportunities in North East Brazil Seminar”, promoted by the Brazilian Embassy in London, in 2016;

• Realization of the Christmas Cantata in honor of the 20 years of Lima e Falcão, with the participation of Criança Cidadã Orchestra under the conduction of Maestro Nilson Galvão Jr., in 2015;
• Sponsorship of the feature film Prometo um Dia Deixar esta Cidade [I Promise One Day to Leave this City] (2014), directed by Daniel Aragão and winner of the prize for Best Actress at the 2014 Rio Festival;
• Sponsorship for the Coque Children’s Citizens Orchestra, organized by the Child Citizen Benefactors Association, in the purchase of airline tickets to perform in Rome, in 2014;
• Sponsorship of CD by Pernambuco musician Sambê, Recife-PE, in 2013;
• Sponsorship of the short film Zuleno (2012), documentary directed by Felipe Peres Calheiros;

• Sponsorship for the “Course Conclusion Recital - Bachelor of Arts in Piano, with pianist Luís Felipe Oliveira”, held on the 24th of May 2019 at Santa Isabel Theater;
• Sponsorship and support for the UFPE Team in the National Arbitration Competition, in 2018;
• Sponsorship for the Business Mediation and Arbitration Chamber - Brazil (CAMARB), in 2018;
• Professional training for the lecturers of CEMO - Center of Musical Education of Olinda, through IAUPE (Institute of Support to the University of Pernambuco), in 2018;
• Sponsorship of the first Brazil Conference at Harvard University, USA, organized by Brazilian Students' Association at Harvard University, held on April 17 and 18, in 2015;
• Sponsorship and support for restoration of the Steinway Piano, at the Pernambuco Conservatory of Music, Recife-PE, in 2014;
• Sponsorship and support for the Piano Department of the Recife Technical School of Music - ETCMR, linked to the Pernambuco State Education Authority, directly benefitting around 110 students. Through this project, the School received a half-grand piano and three new upright pianos, improvement of its premises and furniture, additions to its library stock and computer equipment, promotion of activities to support teacher training, the performance of concerts and the creation of an annual awards competition, Recife-PE, in 2012;
• Support for the publication of the books Dos Direitos Reais [On Property Rights] and Do Direito das Famílias e das Sucessões [On Family and Probate Law], edited by Alyson Rodrigo Correia Campos and Fabíola de Albuquerque, and the Coletânea de temas de Direito Civil [Collection of of Civil Law Topics] produced by the Recife Faculty of Law;
• Support for the Renovation Project, to collect books for the Recife Faculty of Law of the Federal University of Pernambuco;
• Support for the Recife Faculty of Law’s Literary Review, Recife-PE;
• Donation of second-hand law textbooks to educational institutions, Recife-PE.

Social Project

• From 2015 to 2020, Lima e Falcão gave administrative, financial, and institutional support to the Happy Child Organization. The organization has as its objective to offer institutional shelter and foster care to pregnant women and/with children in situations of abandonment, threats, or violation of rights, in Recife and its metropolitan region, besides promoting the confrontation against early pregnancies, sexual violence against young girls and the abusive use of drugs by teenagers. Tiago Carneiro Lima, one of the attorneys at Lima e Falcão, took on the presidency of the entity in March 2016;
• Donation of paper for recycling to the NACC – Child Cancer Support Unit and the Cancer Hospital, in Recife-PE;
• Donation of second-hand computer equipment to public-sector organizations, in Recife-PE.
